I know I graduated kind of a while ago, but I only just got around to downloading the pictures off of my sister’s camera.

I don’t really like taking pictures on trips. The main reason is because I’m on vacation to experience the place, not to document it all. Since I’m a bit OCD, taking pictures of stuff involves cataloging, careful captioning, making sure things are in order, etcetera etcetera. I don’t really want to deal with my neurosis when I’m supposed to be on holiday.

The other main reason why is because my camera sucks, as do my photography skills. I can take forty pictures, all at the same angle and with the same lighting, and of that whole batch maybe four will turn out okay. Everything else is blurry and terrible.

So when I went to New Orleans this past New Year’s, I got my friend Micah to take the pics for me. I still had to throw out a bunch, not because he’s a bad photographer but because my camera just sucks that badly. But what’s left is still a decent photo-narrative of what happened there. Not all of these pics will sync with what I did; Micah and I, after all, are different people and had different schedules, hung out with different crowds. But it’s still awesome, and I’m very grateful to him for doing this for me. If it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t have any pictures at all!

It’s been a while since I wrote an aside. Anyway, this is super incredibly old news to everyone else, but I only discovered today that Square Haven is dead. I really am quite upset about this, which is stupid since it’s been closed for months now and I didn’t even notice. Way to be observant, fool.

The first Eva movie has finally been pirated. DVD-quality rip complete with sub track. I downloaded it myself and watched parts of it, so rest assured, it’s the real thing. Excuse me as I wet myself with glee.

This is kind of old news but I didn’t find it until today: the FFRPG core rulebook has finally been completed. Now I just have to get a crew together… or try and drag my old friends together to play. Hm. I wonder which will be more difficult.

Eight teenagers charged in Internet beating have their day on the Web. I really don’t know what to say about this, even though as soon as I read the heading I knew there was some… relevance to my own life. I saw the video on the news, and it’s as disturbing as you’d expect it to be.
