Wow, over a month since my last post. Unfortunately, it’s like 3am over here and I’m too exhausted to come up with anything coherent to say. The funny part is that even though I haven’t been posting, I’ve been keeping up with all the behind-the-scenes work, like making regular backups and upgrading WP and the plugins, and even creating a crappy reviews page. I even cleaned up the tags (the too lazy to finish tagging tag has been reduced to one entry).
What else can I talk about.
Nothing much. Too tired to keep writing. Must zzzleep.
This journal has some pretty messed up stats. The pattern seems to be that MWF I get hits in the 20-25 range, and TR and weekends I get no hits at all. What the hell? Are people only reading this at work or something? And if so, let me recommend some better ways of wasting your time.
The #1 most accessed entry is my entry on Kawaii Kon, which makes sense since I plugged this entry the most, it has a lot of search-engine-friendly terms (mostly anime titles), and is probably the most relevant thing I will ever blog about. But for some reason, the second most accessed entry is “My Goddamn teeth.” And the Google search terms that lead to that page are just really bizarre:
- my teeth are wearing away
- the enamel of my teeth feel weird
- am i brushing my teeth too hard?
- when i dont brush my teeth i clench
- my tooth turns sideways
- strange feeling to top teeth after gnash
- kill the root of my tooth
- god damn cavity pain
- i bit my teeth too hard
- i can see my jaw bone in a line on my gum
- not sinus problems but gnashing teeth
And my personal favorite,
- i have a great pain when i clench the butt cheek
Hehehe. I love how these are all little statements as opposed to strings of search engine terms. When I stick them all together like that it looks like a poem full of mundane human suffering.
I’m also getting a lot of hits to the entry about my Pokemon team because people are searching for “pokemon porn” and “pokeporn.” Guys, sorry, there is no porn here. Why the hell are you looking for Pokemon porn, anyway? I mean, what the hell? I also got a few hits to my Kawaii Kon entry because people were looking for “unrealistically huge boobs” and “anime boobs bigger than their head.” The Internet is a strange and somewhat disgusting place. BUT SO AMUSING!
There are some annoying broken things in this layout. The search bar hasn’t been working for the last couple of weeks, and if you go to an entry page that has a short body (like any of the asides) then the inline sidebar becomes inaccessible because of the way the CSS layers are set up. Ideally, the author for Redoable will come out with a new version that fixes all these bugs, but since his last post about it was some six months ago (when WP 2.3 had just come out) I’m not exactly holding my breath. I’m OCD enough about these kinds of problems to want to just change the layout entirely, but at the same time I’ve grown quite attached to this one. Plus I put a damn lot of hard work into it, trying to get it to play nicely with my plugins and WP itself (since it’s no longer compatible with, like, anything). Augh.
EDIT 05/02/2008: I spent my entire day working on this freaking layout instead of studying for my soc class. It’s just a CSS edit based off of K2. I don’t know enough code anymore to be able to make a fully fledged layout by myself. There are still a lot of problems but I’m too tired and sore to work on this layout anymore.
